This painting is a portrait of a sweet dog that has gone to the rainbow bridge and was commissioned by her owner. Her name is Marley.

Colorful Lizard

Well, it has been a while since I have posted anything. I have been really busy as most folks are these days.
I painted this for a project on an advanced watercolor group that I belong to. We were to use two complimentary secondary colors and one earth color.
I chose yellow orange, ult. blue and quinacridone gold.

Cool Waters

This was a project for the online watercolor group I belong to. In this monthly project a photo is supplied and all who want to participate paint from the same photo. Each is encouraged to "make it their own" by changing things at will. This is my painting.
I don't often do landscapes so I am happy with the outcome of this one. Trees are always difficult for me so I eliminated a lot of the upper part of the photo to cut down on the trees. This also helped to make the water the focus of the painting.

Every year I try to do quick watercolor sketches of my little boarding kennel dogs and cats on postcards and send to the owners at Christmas time.
I decided that this year I would get a head start on them as I will probably have about 50 to do this year.
This cute little guy is BJ, a face washing machine. When he finished with your face, he delights in giving love nibbles on your nose and chin.

Bull Elk

I feel very fortunate to have the use of a photographers fabulous wildlife photos as reference for my paintings, so I offered to paint one of her favorite photos for her.
This photo was taken in Colorado of a spectacular Bull Elk.The photographers name is Linda Schrag. Thank you so much Linda!

This is a watercolor painting of some of my hollyhocks. I think this flower has to be one of my absolute favorites. I used Twinrocker watercolor paper which I love for the brightness and true color. There is no color shift using this paper.
