Well, another day another painting. One of my Ebay horse groups chose "spots" for this weeks challenge so this is what I came up with. It looks a bit more like illustrative art because I thought it would suit this composition.

Jax and Oreo portrait

I have this mostly finished now. I may go back and tweak a little here and there but not much.
The owners will be here tomorrow to pick up these two little cuties so I hope they like the portrait.

I worked on this a little more today but my heart really wasn't in it. I guess I have been painting too much and need a day or two off. Yeah, like that's gonna happen!
Anyway, the poor little girl on the right looks a bit like a scared monkey because her eyes aren't finished but this is a WIP so I will try to get past that.

Jax and Oreo

I haven't had much chance to work on this because I have been working on a sculpture so this is as far as I have gotten. I still need to put some white gouache on the little fly away hairs on Jax and of course I have barely started Oreo.
Tomorrow I paint with a group of friends at our local art gallery so maybe I can get more done then.

This is going to be a busy weekend for me. I had these two little doggies arrive on Thursday to spend the weekend. The brown one is my min pin Tazzi.
Then today here came this cutie, Sammy the pug. They were all having so much fun chasing around the yard.

And this one is Sammy and Oreo.

I did get a little painting done on a portrait of Oreo and Jax for their owner.

Morning Glory

There are wild morning glory growning all over my yard, well all over the neighborhood, to the point of being an obnoxious weed but since one of my watercolor groups made the morning glory one of our monthly projects, I did a painting from one of the photos I had taken last year. They really are very pretty and graceful if only they wouldn't wind themselves up every post and fence available and then some!
This is done on 140lb Fabriano Artistico paper. Size is about 8 X 10.

This is the final version of this painting. There were times when I thought I would just quit working on it because I felt it just wasn't going right and I am still not sure if I am excited about it but this is it.
