This is the final version of this painting. There were times when I thought I would just quit working on it because I felt it just wasn't going right and I am still not sure if I am excited about it but this is it.
Watercolor on Fabriano Artistico 140# paper.

I have watched this painting happen and just love the result. Your instincts were correct about losing that solid bright green on the left side and the resulting mottled green looks very pasture-like and is just right now. This is such an active painting, you really did a great job of painting in the life!

We are in Boone, NC now and we see so many of those green pastures, often with horses. It really is a different scene than what we see in Phoenix at this time of the year!
